Dear all,
I'm writing on behalf of the Cambridge University Chinese Orchestral
Society (CUCOS) to tell you that we are looking for conductor and players
for our western instrument department. We are the only orchestra of our
kind in the UK and specialise in oriental music. In the last 2 years we
have collborated with the renowned harmonica player Mr Jia He-Yi and toured
in Oxford and London. Here is our website:
http://www.srcf.ucam.org/cucos/index.php
We need a conductor from Michaelmas to Lente, ending with a concert in at
Westroad concert hall on the 28th of February. And of course, what is an
orchestra without some great players! So if you play any instrument, please
come and play for us!
This year, we will be playing Butterfly Lovers concerto (With Miss Amy
Yuan, an ex-concert master for the national youth orchestra), Qiao's grand
courtyard (With the Soprano Ms Lu Miao who was part of Madame Butterfly at
Royal Albert Hall).
Rehearsal time are:
1:30 - 4pm
Every Saturday!
Robinson Music Room
If you are interested or have any further questions please email me at
tz238@cam.ac.uk or just come to our rehearsals!
Cheers,
Tianying Zhang
Head of Western Instrument Department
