Cambridge Early Music is running two summer schools at Sidney Sussex this
year. Bass and tenor singers are needed, and a harpsichordist for the
Baroque week, and scholarships are available to help with the fees for the
right candidates. Both courses combine vocal and instrumental repertoire
with technical tuition and historically-informed stylistic guidance.
Baroque course, tutored by The Parley of Instruments, 26 July - 2 August:
Handel in England.
Renaissance course, tutored by Philip Thorby and others, 2-9 August: A
Munich Marriage of 1568 - music by Lassus, Striggio, Gabrieli etc.
