AUDITIONS – ADC Lent Term Musical: ‘Guys & Dolls’ – this weekend (Sat, Sun)
The ADC warmly invites you to audition for ‘Guys & Dolls’, which the club is pleased to announce as its ever-popular Lent Term Musical (weeks 8 & 9 of next term).
‘Guys & Dolls’ is widely regarded as one of the greatest musicals of all time. With its strong narrative, stunning score and witty writing, it’s put a smile on the face of millions of theatre-goers since its Broadway premiere in 1950. Featuring hit songs such as ‘Luck Be a Lady Tonight’, ‘If I Were a Bell’ and ‘Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat’, this show offers all types of performers the opportunity to get involved in a classic, big Broadway musical that has a large male and female chorus and various character parts (not to mention great lead roles that have been performed by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Ewan McGregor).
Open Auditions: this weekend in the Bar at the ADC Theatre—
Saturday, 22 November: 10am-5pm
Sunday, 23 November: 1pm-6pm
Please prepare a song for the audition that you feel best shows off your singing ability (and bring the music with you so we can accompany you on our keyboard). If you haven’t got a song in mind, don't worry! We’ll use a short extract from one of the songs in the show to test your singing ability. We’ll also supply copies of this extract outside the audition room so you can have a look in advance, if you wish. (Other song material will not be provided.)
Recall auditions are scheduled for the following Wednesday or Thursday (26-27 Nov).
