The new East of England Arts Club will be arranging arts events in and around Camrbdige, initially at the Open University's Regional Centre at Cintra House in Hills Road, and will also be organising trips to concerts, plays, exhibitions etc. in London and elsewhere. Members will pay an annual subscription of £10, for which they will be able to go on arts trips and take part in free or low-cost local events.

The Club is being organised by staff and students of the Open University but is open to anyone over the age of 16.

For our launch event we'd like to include some music performed by small groups or soloists as well as some short drama items, poetry etc. Please would you email me at r.peoples@open.ac.uk if you're interested in taking part - or know someone else who might be. We're hoping that the Club will provide regular opportunities in future for local musicians to perform all kinds of music.

Thanks in advance for your support.

For something completely different, may I recommend "Keith Pearson's
Coup de Grass", a local Bluegrass-influenced show band.
They appeared in the Cambridge Big Weekend on Parkers' Piece and will be
appearing late on Sunday 3 August in the Folk Club tent it you would
    like a preview!

    full details see: www.keithpearson.co.uk

regards and good luck with your musical initiative,

Liz Pearson (contact for the band 01954 260730)
