Cammuso Topic: Auditions For The Cambridge Greek Play 2010 http://www.cammuso.org.uk/forums/ Cammuso Topic: Auditions For The Cambridge Greek Play 2010 en Tue, 07 Feb 2012 16:11:28 +0000 tkw23 on "Auditions For The Cambridge Greek Play 2010" http://www.cammuso.org.uk/forums/topic/349#post-362 Mon, 22 Feb 2010 09:55:28 +0000 tkw23 362@http://www.cammuso.org.uk/forums/ <p>Auditions for the Cambridge Greek Play 2010</p> <p>Every three years The Cambridge Greek Play takes place at the<br /> Cambridge Arts Theatre; in Autumn 2010 this will be Aeschylus'<br /> Agamemnon.</p> <p>The production is led by a professional director, designer and<br /> composer and is an exciting opportunity for Cambridge actors to work<br /> with a professional team on an ambitious production.</p> <p>The production is in Ancient Greek, but it isn't essential to be a<br /> Classicist or read Greek; there is plenty of tutoring, training and<br /> help on hand to help you conquer it!</p> <p>We are looking for committed, talented actors with a desire to learn<br /> new skills, tackle chorus and movement work and explore a weighty<br /> poetic text. We are looking for strong singers in some roles, though<br /> not all, and we are keen to have some actor/musicians in the ensemble .</p> <p>There will be an initial exploration period at the end of this term in<br /> 9th/10th week; some initial rehearsals to kick the start the project.</p> <p>The main rehearsal period will take place from 1st September, prior to<br /> the show being at the Arts Theatre in the 1st or 2nd week of<br /> Michaelmas Term. It is essential that you are available to be in<br /> Cambridge from 1st September to rehearse full time for this month.</p> <p>So if you would like to come and audition:</p> <p>First round auditions will be on Tuesday 2nd March from 3pm-7pm.<br /> Please prepare a short verse monologue (Shakespeare for example) to<br /> perform from memory. If you are a confident singer, please also bring<br /> something to sing. Don't worry if you are not.
