Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra (CUSO) is delighted to announce the opening of applications for conducting auditions for 2009-2010. This is a fantastic opportunity for high-aiming student conductors to work with a high-standard symphony orchestra, with concerts in Cambridge once a term and St. John's Smith Square, London annually.

Audition details are as follows:

First round, on Saturday 27th February between 10:00am and 1:00 pm:

Candidates will conduct a two-piano arrangement of the first movement of Schumann's 4th Symphony up to letter E. The panel will then select candidates to advance to the second round.

Second round, on Monday 1st March between 8:00 and 10:00 pm:

Candidates selected from the first round will rehearse CUSO through the 2nd movement of Mahler's Symphony number 4, up to figure 6.

-----------------------------------------

Applicants should send a CV of musical experience to Geoffrey Hung (cuso-secretary@srcf.ucam.org), stating the applicant's orchestral and conducting experience and contact details. The deadline for applications is 5pm Thursday, February 25th.
