We are London’s only amateur/semi-pro orchestra consisting mainly of recent graduates, with large numbers of ex-CUSO/CUMS/CUCO Cambridge musicians in our ranks. We aim not only for fantastic performances but have also established ourselves as the most sociable, lively and friendly of London orchestras, with regular socials, mad after-parties and a rather concerning ability to get recognised in any pub or bar in the Waterloo area. Our reputation for quality in performance has recently received the BBC’s stamp of approval, when we were selected as one of only 3 London orchestras to participate in the upcoming BBC2 series Maestro under the baton of celebrity conductors such as Goldie and Alex James, to name but a few. Our programmes incorporate all the big symphonic standards, as well as choral collaborations, projects with new young composers, and concertos in collaboration with the emerging stars from the London music colleges. We hope to build on our ‘youthful’ image in coming years through community work with schools and through charity concerts, as well as further projects along the lines of Maestro.
