The theme for this year's National Archaeology Week (12 to 18 July) is archaeology and music and I am designing a very small exhibition "Whistle a happy tune" showing some of the ocarinas, whistles etc from around the world which are not normally on display. I am also putting together a programme of short lunchtime talks: Archaeology and the Origins of Music; Polynesian Instruments; ...
It would be good to have a combination of live performances and background music. I also wondered about having some music for which children could pick up a tambourine, triangle, maraccas, drum and accompany the musician. Can anyone help us? We have no way of paying you, but can provide limited travel expenses and lunch.
