Intimate Engagements Concert

‘Apres un Reve’: A Feast of French Music for Flute and Piano

Duo Dolan: Abigail Dolan, flute and David Dolan, piano

The synergy created between composers and performers in the synaesthetic Parisian artictic and cultural climate at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century resulted in the revival of the flute as a solo instrument. In this programme, the Duo Dolan celebrates this golden age by presenting some of the well known and loved works for flute and piano of the period, and discusses the unique attributes of the French School in the development of the flute sound and repertoire as we know it today.

Programme: Faure – Sonata Op.13 and ‘Apres un Reve’, Debussy – ‘Syrinx’, Poulenc – Sonata and Jolivet – ‘ Incantations’ for flute solo

Tickets: £15 / £10 Clare Hall Members / £5 Students
